This quickstart will walk you through two fictitious but realistic scenarios:
- A small business owner who wants to track their ranking position in Google.
- An SEO agency who wants to track their client’s website through SerpWatch.
# Scenario 1
Description: You’re an owner of a pet store “Happy Treats” in Boston, MA. You want to use SerpWatch to track your website’s ranking position in Google.
Goal: Sign up for a free trial and create a tracking project.
# Create a Free Trial Account
- Open SerpWatch registration page.
- Enter your name (1), email (2), and password (3).
- Check the box to agree to SerpWatch Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (4).
No credit card information is required for a free trial subscription.

- Look for the verification email in your inbox and click the link to verify your email.
# Add Your First Tracking Project
- Click “Add Project”:

- Name your project (it’s best if you name it after the domain you want to track):

- Enter your domain:

- Add your keywords (type them, copy/paste, or import via CSV):

- Set up your tracking location:

- Select language and search engine (the shortlisted languages will differ based on the geolocation you selected):

- Select check frequency:

- Optionally, you can integrate SerpWatch with Google Analytics (choose your GA account, select a property, and lastly the appropriate view which is connected to this project’s domain):

- Click “Save project” to finish:

You’ve now created your first tracking project and you can view and analyze the ranking data for your pet store website on the project and keyword level.

# Scenario 2
Description: You’re an agency “SEO 100” with a registered account on SerpWatch. You want to track the rankings of your client’s domain.
Goal: Enable Client Management, add a client, and assign them a project from the main Dashboard.
# Enable Client Management
- Log into the Project Dashboard:

- Click your profile icon and select “Client Management”:

- Toggle to enable Client Management:

- Name your agency (you can fill in other details later):

- Create a custom URL to share with your clients and set up your personal agency domain (read more about this step here):

You’ve now successfully enabled Client Management and you can add your first client.
# Add Your Client
- From the Client Management dashboard, click the “Agency Clients” button in the left sidebar:

- Click “Add Clients“:

- Name your client, confirm email and password, and select the language:

- Click “Add client” to finish:

You’ve now added your client and you can assign them one of the projects from the main Dashboard.

# Assign a Project to Your Client
- Log into the project Dashboard and click the 3 dot button next to the project you want to move to White Label and select “Assign Project”:

- Select the name of your client and click “Save”:

- The project is now visible in the client’s portal:
