SerpWatch billing is based upon your usage and usage is based on how many different search engine indexes we must look up and the frequency at which we check.

# What’s an Index?
An index means a different ranking system. Google for example has different indexes for each country on each device (mobile and desktop).
If you have a great desktop site but aren’t optimized for mobile, you could rank 1 for a keyword on desktop but not be in the top 3 pages on mobile.
Obviously, different search engines don’t share data, so they also have different indexes. Likewise, different countries use different languages, so they also have different indexes.
Because of these different indexes, we have to aggregate your data separately for each index, meaning we have to execute a new task for each time we need to retrieve data from a new index.
# Frequency
SerpWatch allows you to increase check frequency as well, which means we can aggregate your data multiple times per day. Again, this increases usage as the data must be aggregated multiple times from the same index.
# Scenarios
Here are a few scenarios for the keyword “rank tracker”:
- You want to monitor just in google desktop once per day | 1 check per day
- You want to monitor in google desktop and mobile once per day | 2 devices * 1 time per day = 2 checks per day
- You want to monitor in google desktop and mobile once per day in 2 countries | 2 devices * 2 countries = 4 checks per day
- You want to monitor in google desktop and mobile twice per day in 2 countries | 2 devices * 2 countries * 2 times per day = 8 checks per day
- You want to monitor in google desktop and mobile twice per day in 2 countries in 2 search engines (Bing and Google) | 2 devices * 2 countries * 2 times per day * 2 search engines = 16 checks per day
