SW Score measures the influence a particular keyword has on the entire project and helps you assess the overall health of your project based on the weight you assign to each keyword.

How to Assign Weight to Keywords?
To assign a weight type to your keyword, log into your project dashboard and click the project you want to track.

Scroll down to the list of keywords, find the WEIGHT column and click the Serpie icon next to the keyword you want to assign the weight to.

Select the desired weight and click “Save”:

There are 4 ways you can mark the weight of your keywords in SerpWatch and each weight type will signal the importance of your keywords to the success of the entire project:
- None — keywords will be ignored and will not be used in the equation.
- Low — low-weight keywords will have a very low impact on the project ranking; if a low-weight keyword’s position is better than the position generated by the algorithm, the keyword will increase the general position of the project by 1; if the low-weight keyword’s position is worse than the position generated by the algorithm, the keyword will reduce the position of the project by 1.
- Default — all new keywords you add are assigned the default weight; in this case, the weight will be used in the equation and will have a mid-range influence on the project.
- High — the high weight will flag the most important keywords in the project and influence the general position the most.
How is SW Score Calculated?
SW Score is calculated based on the position and the search volume associated with a particular keyword.
The higher a keyword’s position and search volume are, the more successful the entire project will be.
On the other hand, if a keyword reaches a high-ranking position but its search volume remains low, the change in the SW Score will be less noticeable.

While ranking is the most obvious criterion for measuring the success of individual keywords and the entire project, reaching the #1 position for a particular keyword could mean nothing if no one is looking up that query term.
Always keep in mind that both keyword position and search volume will influence the movement you see in the chart.
Also, note that search volume is a highly volatile value, which makes it practically impossible to showcase with accurate consistency.
